Allah SWT will forgive you (Surah AL-ZUMAR)

According to scholars, the following is one of the most ‘hope’ infusing verses of the Quran – where Allah SWT has used a unique expression to the ones burdened with sins.

Say [that Allah declares,] ‘O My servants who have committed excesses against their own souls, do not despair of the mercy of Allah. Indeed Allah will forgive all sins. Indeed He is the All-forgiving, the All-merciful.

In verse, Allah SWT refers to its those who have transgressed as “My servants” – this itself is a blessing where Allah SWT is showing that He never abandons those who have wronged and have burdened their own souls with sins. (no matter what the sin is). Allah SWT is directing those, to have hope in His mercy.

Allah SWT didn’t just stop there, He emphasizes that He will forgive all sins. And, Allah SWT reflects on how we should put our belief in Him i.e. He, Allah SWT is All-forgiving and All-merciful.

While Allah SWT is giving us hope in this verse, we should know that this cannot be translated into a false hope of forgiveness if we continue to do wrongs – the verse is to help us find our way back into the mercy of Allah SWT and from here onwards, fix the path we follow.

May Allah SWT help us find our way back to the right path.
