Can Dua change destiny? The shortest answer is “YES, it does”.
In this article, I will try to explain the concept of “Lawh Mahfuz”, and how the Dua (supplications) tie together to give us two beautiful outcomes;
- Allah SWT’s hold of all the knowledge and the wisdom
- And, the power of supplications and how it changes destiny (If Allah SWT wills).
Allah SWT’s entirety of Knowledge
I am sure you have come across this concept that what is written in “Lawh Mahfuz” doesn’t change at all, right? This is correct! The concept is not like the usual one that we form our opinions on, in the regular part of our life. Allah SWT out of his complete knowledge has written everything, including the Duas, those which result in the change of destiny and the change itself. There is never going to be a point where “Lawh Mahfuz” is to be changed.
The concept is strong and it is important to absorb it the right way, this profound concept is linked with the might of Allah SWT and is to help us understand our Creator, Master, and Sustainer – personally, for me, every time I reflect on amazing my Creators Knowledge & Wisdom is, I am in awe! Only when I completely understood the concept, I realized how huge of a blessing it is that Allah SWT choose to share this information and eventually my Duas (supplications) for seeking ease in life and refugee from future harm was coming from a place of knowledge about Allah SWT.
Duas (Supplications) changing the destiny
With the concept of Allah SWT’s knowledge, we now need to understand the Duas we make are answered and when accept by the mercy of Allah SWT they change our destiny – change in Rizq, Hidayat, Taqwa, etc.
Let’s try to understand this with an example:
- A man is going through poverty, that’s his current state. Allah SWT is observing his current affairs and out of knowledge, knew that at a particular time, the man is going to make a dua that will end up opening doors of riches.
- The man ends up making the dua and it moves hardships away and opens the doors for blessings at the time Allah SWT already knew.
- For Allah SWT, it was all his knowledge of what was to come in the future – for the man, it is the belief that his supplications were answered (remember, the man did make actions i.e. Duas).
Jazak Allah.
